Common Code Violations

Yard and Lot Maintenance
Yard and lot maintenance is important to the health, safety, and welfare of our residents and plays an important role in maintaining a quality neighborhood appearance. City regulations prohibit:
  • Any untended growth of grass or weeds in excess of 12 inches in height.
  • Accumulations of trash, junk and debris.
  • Vegetation or trees that impair a motorist or pedestrian’s field of vision at intersections.
  • City residents are offered brush, yard rubbish and bulky waste collection once a month, per household. For more information call (830)774-7250.
Junked or Abandoned Vehicles
All vehicles are required to be currently licensed and fully operable if they are parked within public view. Vehicles that don’t run must be parked in a fully enclosed building or be covered with a proper fitting car cover (maximum one). Dismantled vehicles stored outside of an enclosed structure are also prohibited.

For questions or to report any code violations please call (830) 774-8628.
